England's Premier Lavender Farm

Founded in 1932, Norfolk Lavender is England's premier lavender farm, renowned worldwide and has many acres of lavender under cultivation. Set in beautiful tranquil gardens a visit to Norfolk Lavender is a must for all visitors to the West Coast of Norfolk.

The All-Year Round Attraction

We are open all year round, with the summer season being the most vibrant when all of the lavenders burst into flower and the air is full of the relaxing fragrance. The lavender distillery is on view to the public. Visitors can book a tour with a Guide who will talk about the history of Norfolk Lavender, how we harvest and distill to get the oil for Norfolk Lavender's world famous perfume and toiletry range.  You will also learn how to grow and care for your plants and  because lavender is a herb, the Guide will also take you to the herb garden and explain some of the uses of various herbs.  Guided tours operate for most of the summer months, please call to check times and prices.

Gift Shop

Our Lavender Gift Shop is full of Norfolk Lavender products, made from the farm's own lavender oil, and many other wonderful gifts for all occasions.

Lavenders For Your Garden

In the Plant Centre you will find masses of rare and unusual lavenders for sale, such as Lavender Imperial Gem and Miss Katherine and an extensive selection of herbs, perennials  and other treasures to take home for your own gardens.

Norfolk Lavender Tearooms & Restaurant (The Lavender Lounge)

We open all year round from 9am. It provides a a tempting variety of teas and coffees. Cakes, scones, cream teas, light snacks and sandwiches are also on offer. A selection of home made hot dishes are cooked to order and served daily.  On Sundays there is a very popular carvery, with a choice of roasts.

Herb Garden

Excite your senses in the Herb Garden, which is filled with over 50 different herbs from woade (which the ancient Britons used to colour themselves blue with) to pineapple sage (which tastes wonderful on pork). The herbs are laid out in the style of an old monastry/physic garden and you can touch and smell the different types. Many of the herbs are available in the Plant Centre.

National Collection of Lavenders

Norfolk Lavender is the holder of the first National Collection of Lavenders and has over 50 different varieties arranged in planted beds showing the differences between types, which will hopefully help you choose the right one for your garden.

Large Gardens & Grounds

The large grounds and gardens over the river have been entirely revitalised with large beds showing the use of lavender within a garden setting and with other plants. Although the sight and scent of lavender continues to dominate the 18 acres of grounds their vibrant flowers are balanced by a host of other plants chosen for a long season of interest.

A new network of paths has been created connecting the planted borders, whilst in the bamboo wood a collection of over 20 varieties  from Norfolk Bamboo await you.
